Shortcut for Steel Cut Oats
If you like steel cut oats, but just don’t have time to cook them for 20 minutes in the morning. Here’s a trick to cut that cooking time to 5 minutes. The night before, combine 1 cup steel cut oats and 1 cup water in a glass bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit overnight. The next morning, transfer this to a sauce pan, add 1 cup of water and 1/4 tsp sea salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and continue cooking until done, about 5 minutes.
